A Psalm of David.

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Melquisedeque (Gn 14:18) era rei e sacerdote, pré-Levitico. A carta aos Hebreus (7:17) usa este verso para fundamentar o sacerdócio eterno de Cristo, diferente do sistema levítico temporário. O juramento divino reforça a natureza irrevogável desta designação.
