Ezequiel 7

20As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.

Deus deu ao povo oro para decorar o templo, mas o utilizaram para fazer ídolos. Os recursos que Deus nos dá devem ser utilizados para realizar sua obra e levar a cabo sua vontade, mas com muita freqüência o consumimos para satisfazer nossos próprios desejos. Quando abusamos dos dons de Deus ou utilizamos os recursos com propósitos egoístas nos perdemos o verdadeiro propósito que Deus tinha em mente. Isto é tão curto de vista como a idolatria.

21And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.
