Ezequiel 16

15But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

Deus se preocupou e amou ao Judá, solo para vê-lo ir-se em detrás de outras nações e seus deuses falsos. A nação tinha crescido à maturidade e se tinha voltado famosa, mas se esqueceu de quem lhe tinha dado a vida (16.22). Esta é uma ilustração de adultério espiritual (chamado apostasia: apartar do único Deus verdadeiro). Na medida em que você se volta sábio e mais amadurecido, não se além do Unico que realmente o ama.

63That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD .
