O altar do incenso ficava diante do véu que separava o Santo Lugar do Santo dos Santos (ex26:31-35). O 'propiciatório' (tampa da arca) era onde Deus se manifestava (ex25:22). A localização reforça a conexão entre oração (incenso) e presença divina.
