2And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

A determinação do Mardoqueo provinha de sua fé em Deus. Não efetuou uma pesquisa de opinião antes de decidir qual era o curso mais seguro ou popular a seguir; pelo contrário, teve o valor de enfrentar as circunstâncias sozinho. Os que fazem o correto não sempre fazem o que é popular. É possível que os que fazem o bem sejam a minoria, mas obedecer a Deus é mais importante que obedecer às pessoas (Act 5:29).

15The posts went out, being hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.
