He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD .

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD ; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:

A proibição eterna contra moabitas/amonitas contrasta com o tratamento de outros povos (v.7-8). Isso se deve à hostilidade durante o Êxodo (nm22:4-6) e à origem incestuosa desses povos (gn19:30-38). A história de Rute (rt1:4; rt4:13-17) mostra exceções práticas.
