1And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.

Judá foi invadida pelos babilonios três vezes (24.1; 24.10; 25.1), ao igual ao Israel foi invadido pelos assírios em três ocasiões. Uma vez mais, Deus mostrou sua misericórdia frente ao castigo merecido ao dar ao povo repetidas oportunidades para que se arrependesse.CATIVEIRO DO JUDAO mal penetrou no Judá e a ira de Deus estalou contra seu povo rebelde. Babilônia conquistou Assíria e chegou a ser a nova potência mundial. O exército babilônico partiu em Jerusalém, queimou o templo, demoliu as grandes muralhas da cidade e levou a povo em cativeiro.

9And he burnt the house of the LORD , and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man’s house burnt he with fire.
