1Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

Salomão tomou o trono em 970 a.C.É possível obcecar-se com a construção do edifício de uma igreja e descuidar a igreja real: o povo de Deus. Mas também é mau o oposto: esquecer do edifício da igreja. Davi esclareceu este ponto quando disse do templo: "Porque a casa não é para homem, a não ser para o Jeová Deus". Embora devemos evitar as extravagâncias custosas, devemos recordar que todo edifício de uma igreja é um testemunho visível de Deus. Como pode ser usado melhor o edifício de sua igreja para falar com mundo a respeito de Deus?

17I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
